About My Clients
My clients are the expert on their own experience. My job is to walk beside you when it feels too hard to bear alone, and to offer tools that make the journey easier. I do my best work with adults and older adults navigating life changes, anxiety, OCD, and the impacts of aging or chronic health conditions. I have extensive experience with adolescents and am happy to work with later teens (15+). I do offer telehealth, but see tremendous value in being able to sit together in person.
My Background and Approach
I believe that the most important part of therapy is creating a relationship where you feel safe to do hard work. Within that space, I use a mix of therapeutic styles that always begin with a foundation of respect for my clients. I love to teach people about how the brain and human development across the lifespan impact mental health. I frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. With my background in social work, I recognize that connection between the health of our community and the health of the individual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I belive in the intrinsic value of each wonderful, unique individual. In a world that provides it far too infrequently, I want you to feel safe and valued. In my office you matter. Your experience is real. I am passionate about social justice and understanding all the ways our community impacts each of us.
