Much of my practice and clinical training involves various methods of treating those who are in treatment for anxiety disorders and symptomology. I have sought out training, supervision, and education on anxiety.
I am furthering my education on working with those challenged by eating and feeding concerns through online studies and have had experience treating this population in a clinical setting.
I am an LMFTA and was trained in various aspects of relational and systemic therapy, including couples and sex therapy. I have been trained in Gottman Method couples therapy at level 2 and am currently pursuing certification in EFT after having completed core skills training. I have experience treating many couples and families in a clinical setting.
I have a background in behavior techniques through my work in schools. I am becoming trained in the use of CBT-E for eating disorders and have some training in CBT through my graduate program, books, research readings, and online courses as well as Mindfulness-based CBT. Supervision experiences often guided me in the use of CBT.
As an artist, I often view therapy through the eye of a creative and believe in flexible, spontaneous, emotionally expressive modalities and techniques which promote these qualities. I was taught this modality in graduate school and found it to be comfortable and natural to me. I often use dramatic or art based experiential techniques with clients who have difficulty verbalizing long suppressed emotions.
I am core skills trained, a member of ICEEFT, EWNIEFT community, and am currently pursuing certification in this form of relational therapy. I have been informing my relational therapy with this model and believe in it's effectiveness in helping couples of all types to better communicate and relate on a deeper emotional level.
