About My Clients
Everyone experiences change throughout their lives, it’s what keeps us human. From welcoming a new bundle of joy into the world to grieving the loss of loved ones, our lives are constantly in transition. However, change is difficult. Adjusting to change can bring about stress, anxiety, lowered self-esteem, and depression. Yet, in these moments of change is where personal growth is cultivated. Are you experiencing a life change? If so, therapy can help you navigate through this transition.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I implement person-centered, solution-focused, strengths-based, and cognitive-behavioral interventions to help you understand and cope with your stressors. In our first session, we will investigate your challenges together and collaborate to create goals. In subsequent sessions, we will delve into the impact these stressors have on you and will begin to explore techniques to overcome them. After each session, you will have “homework”- meaning you’ll be trying out your new skills in your life outside of therapy. Together, we will reflect on how these skills are helping you. We will work towards building a toolset that will allow you to defeat your stressor and manage future transitions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I love being in nature and have seen the benefits of embracing the natural world on mental health, especially through therapy. I am always looking for new evidence-based practices to share with clients and am open to exploring how your interests can be therapeutic for you. As a Kentucky native, I have both lived and worked in rural and urban areas throughout the state and understand the ever-changing culture of our commonwealth. I am experienced in working with a variety of diverse populations from all age groups. I have worked with groups, families, couples, and individuals. No matter what stage of life you’re in, I am here to listen.
