About My Clients
My clients struggle with feelings of depression and anxiety that disrupt their daily lives. Often they feel like there is no way out. I also work with couples who seek help in learning healthier ways to communicate with each other. Some couples I work with are in the lifestyle and come to therapy to learn ways to maintain intimacy and connection. I accept several major insurance companies.
My Background and Approach
I work exclusively with online therapy to help people find ways to manage their anxiety, depression or drug and alcohol use in order to lessen the negative impact on relationships, work, and goals in life. I use a combination of therapeutic systems to find one that works best for each person. I offer 8-to-12-week CBT courses to help people learn effective ways to manage their depression and anxiety and move forward with their life. Diagnoses that I have treated include major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, PTSD, and substance use disorders. I have a sub-specialty of working with former cult members and people in high demand/high control relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy depends on the connection a person feels with their therapist. I always advise clients to keep searching until they find someone they feel safe with, and that includes me. Not every therapist is good for every person. That is how therapy is an art. I aspire to let me client know that they have unconditional acceptance from me, and that my goal for them is whatever they want to achieve. I feel no judgement regarding a person's politics, gender, sexual preferences, occupation, etc. I have worked within the LGBTQ community. I have worked to lessen the stigma attached to mental health illnesses and for social justice issues.
