About My Clients
It takes courage to ask for help and I’m honored to provide support, differing perspectives and solutions to reduce suffering in individuals and in their relationships. Most of my practice are teens, young adults and parents. I see a few families and couples. I’m offering in-office sessions (masks are required by law) as well as telehealth.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Santa Clara University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2001. I have been licensed in CA as a Marriage/Family Therapist since 2006. Prior to being licensed, I worked at a community agency providing therapy for diverse populations. Additionally, I worked as a school counselor for over 20 years-both in public and private schools working with K-8th graders. As an intern in private practice, I ran social skills groups. Once licensed, I offered Pre-Teen and Teen Groups for many years. Currently, I work with Individuals, Couples and Families.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe it’s my job to provide an open and supportive environment to help clients find the answers to their questions, search new directions and provide tools to increase functioning and overall happiness. I model skills, teach, share different perspectives and am interactive in our sessions. I have a passion for learning and growing as a therapist and spend lots of time reading, taking classes and have run a consultation group with colleagues for many years. We all hit rough spots sometimes and asking for help and committing to self growth is the best gift you can give yourself or your child.
