About My Clients
Have you had a loss you haven't been able to talk about? Do you feel like you're grieving all alone? I have been where you are and I've learned having a safe, compassionate space is a key component to healing. I would like to offer you that space to process what you have lost and help you discover what's next on your journey. It is possible to have a fulfilling, purposeful life after loss.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania and a certified grief and trauma specialist. I have 15 years of experience working professionally and in a volunteer capacity with individuals and families who have experienced loss and trauma. My specialty is working with women who have endured perinatal loss (miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, ectopic). For over 10 years, I have facilitated healing groups for women and their families who have had a pregnancy loss. Though I consider my counseling approach as eclectic, strengths-based and client-centered, I tend to draw on cognitive, somatic and expressive art-based strategies (journal therapy/expressive writing) to help clients address their concerns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that humans have the capacity to be resilient by being mindful, creative, self-aware and authentic. I find people fascinating and feel blessed to accompany clients on a journey to a world that they've never explored before or have been afraid to do. I also feel blessed to have been on the other side of the chair as a therapy client myself because it has given me a more compassionate and sensitive perspective about the courage it takes not only to confront what bothers us but to take steps to create change. I consider myself pro-human and have aligned myself with causes that build up the sacred dignity all humans have regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, age or ability. While I lean toward Christianity, I consider myself more spiritual than religious and have knowledge and respect for many faith beliefs. I enjoy topics related to the spiritual and supernaturaI. I identify as a Highly Sensitive Person, INFJ, 2w1 on the Enneagram and a Generator for Human Design.
