About My Clients
I love to work with people who are hurting and ready to change. My clients are over thinkers, worriers, worst-possible scenario speculators. They have trouble in relationships and trouble feeling valued. They want to do more than just vent; they want to find the positive change that has eluded them. I love to work with those 65 and older, veterans, or any adults who feel frustrated and want good options for change.
My Background and Approach
I have a number of tools in my bag, but generally I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy background and I help people build skills that make their lives better and more manageable, avoiding dysfunctional thinking and behavior. For those who are interested in integrating their faith, I can incorporate the Christian worldview and biblical principles, but for those who do not want that perspective, that is always respected.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all created to connect, but through hurt and trauma we learn to avoid. I also believe that we can all change and grow with encouragement and support, as well as accountability. I come from a multi-ethnic, blended, imperfect and scarred, family system. I have been working for years on my own health and self-care and positive practices. I love my job and I love coming alongside someone and helping them build the skills and insights they need to live the lives they've been hoping for. I love music; I sing and have dabbled in community theater for a handful of years. I'm training as a Master Gardner and I love diagnosing what's going on with my trees and plants. My dream is to be a digital nomad so that I can practice while traveling the U.S.
