About My Clients
Have you struggled with engaging with others? Are you feeling stuck in the past? Do you feel misunderstood? Are you having a hard time connecting positively with your child? Being in these places can make one feel frustrated, lonely, sad, etc. You don't have to feel this way. Therapy is a place for you to learn about yourself, what you need, and get yourself moving in a direction that feels better for you. I hope to join you on this journey.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in community mental health with children ages 2-20 and their families since 2019. I specialize in helping clients process trauma. More specifically I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT) & Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). In general, I am trained to help clients improve relationships. I have a collaborative approach in working with clients and will ask questions to learn more about your needs. I tend to be more direct and can challenge clients if needed. It is common for me to check in with clients to see how they feel about the approaches I use and how it affects treatment progress. While I am trained in cultural competency I foster an open line of communication about cultural considerations with clients to build awareness of specific cultural needs, customs and values that may guide treatment. While many cultures have common characteristics I view each client as unique and create space for clients to tell me
