About My Clients
Do you long to be seen and accepted as a highly sensitive person--even while you struggle with accepting your own sensitivity? Are you prone to perfectionism, self-criticism, anxiety, and a sense that you don't quite measure up? Is there a creative side to you that needs to be expressed for you to feel whole? Are you confused about what you want out of life or, if you know, uncertain about how to reach those goals? If so, welcome! Let's work together to grow your Singularly Sensitive lifestyle.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed psychologist and completed training under Dr. Elaine Aron to specialize in working with highly sensitive people (HSPs). As an HSP and the mother of a highly sensitive child, I bring personal and professional experience to my work. I am also the author of Wander and Delve: A Journal for Bright, Creative, Highly Sensitive People Forging Their Way. My approach to working with HSPs, which I call Singularly Sensitive, helps clients step out of overwhelm and confusion and listen to their authentic inner voice. The work is highly individualized and customized to your unique identities, circumstances, and needs. I welcome people to bring their whole selves into the therapy process. You set the pace; I accept your way of growing. I have an extensive background in working with perfectionism, creatives/artists/performance anxiety, pregnancy loss/perinatal/postpartum issues, perimenopause/menopause, grief and loss, chronic health/pain issues, trauma, and adult ADHD.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I've known since early childhood that I'm really sensitive. Dr. Elaine Aron's research on HSPs opened my eyes to a new paradigm. I wasn't "too sensitive" or too emotional--my HSP traits are a fundamental part of my identity. And 20-30% of the population is highly sensitive, so I wasn't weird or bad or wrong, just delightfully out of the ordinary. And maybe you are, too. Maybe you're trying to figure out what it means to be an HSP. How to live in a world that isn't designed for us. How to accept yourself, exactly as you are, not begrudgingly tolerate your sensitivity. It isn't easy. But I know there is room to grow into acceptance. I've done it and helped many clients do it. I'd love to help you learn how to accept your sensitivity. You don't have to celebrate it or see it as your superpower (although it's fine if you do). But you can learn how to thrive with this part of you that isn't going away. Contact me to find out how I can support and empower you in this process.
