About My Clients
Clients that seek me out are often looking to develop healthier lifestyles and improve their emotional regulation, communication and stress management skills. They are particularly concerned with issues related to anxiety, depression, and trauma and how these concerns are impacting their relationships and daily functioning. Often, the clients that connect with me tend to be members of the LGBTQIA2S+, neurodivergent, nonmonogamous and/or kink/bdsm communities.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and hold an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling and School Adjustment Counseling from Bridgewater State University. I have worked in a variety of settings and across all ages. I enjoy working in collaboration with my clients to identify their personal strengths and utilize them to bring about positive changes in their lives. I utilize various therapeutic techniques (including relational therapy, trauma regulation and integration process, brainspotting, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing) in an empathetic, inclusive and trauma-informed manner that is personal to my clients' needs and concerns. I am person-centered in my approach and as such, my methods are less structured and more focused on building a safe and trusting relationship with my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in allowing my clients to direct the path of treatment as much as possible. It's important to me to meet my clients where they are at and move at their pace. I also strongly believe that life requires a sense of humor and try to integrate that into my work with clients as appropriate. Being able to laugh with my clients while we work is a true joy in my opinion. I am a supporter/member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and also support anti-racist movements. I aim to create a safe space for my clients during this particularly challenging time that we are all facing.
