About My Clients

You're a survivor and find yourself drained of the strengths you once drew from. Whether grieving the loss of a loved one, struggling with impostor syndrome, or stuck in a life situation that you can't shake; you're ready to sit, heal, and move on as best you can. While many around you know you to be the strong one, this time, you don't think you can. You want a therapist who gets you, your struggle, your resilience because you don't want to have to explain everything; healing on your terms.

My Background and Approach

Developmental and complex traumas are the source of many of my clients' difficulties. The inner child of survivors find themselves lost and wandering with habits that once served them for survival. As they get older, some of those habits no longer have a purpose and can create more difficulty in their day-to-day functioning. In therapy, we honor the strength that brought clients to be resilient. We then draw on that strength to heal in ways that provide for functioning and can bring joy. As an attachment based practitioner, I focus heavily on how we relate to self, others, and experiences. I help explore how clients relate and then facilitate their movement toward relating in ways that feel better for them. Many times, this requires working on the inner child that has been violated in some way, and I’ve found working with that child to be very powerful for healing and self-compassion.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are created for community. That's where the root of my leaning toward an attachment orientation comes from. When something breaks in our early attachments, we are unable to feel safe and then develop in to adults who feel safe. Add in the complexity of different kinds of trauma, and BOOM, we spiral. But I also believe that the human will to survive is powerful! That is how we survive these big and small traumas. I'm a survivor of developmental, complex, and shock traumas that came from parental abandonment, childhood abuse, and sexual assault. My healing was not easy, but I'm so very glad that I've taken steps to be healthy and thrive in my life. I love to walk alongside others in their healing because I believe everyone deserves to find joy, especially after trauma. As a mixed woman, I am keenly aware of my own racial identity and the difficulties that come with being a minority, mixed, and exoticized. I identify as Asian, Latina, Native American and pro-Black.
