About My Clients
I’m currently drawn to treating trauma, complex trauma, medical trauma, anxiety and depression. I aim to help clients feel less stuck and more available to the wide range of experiences life has to offer. You are more than your pain.
My Background and Approach
Trauma can get in the way of living a more connected life with yourself and others. Slowing down and taking time for yourself can feel impossible. I want to help you feel more at ease and present in your life. Adversity is an opportunity for change. I believe that healing happens in relationship with others. I can help you change old patterns, create better boundaries, and get in touch with your authentic self. The body has everything it needs. My calling to become a therapist began in 2008 after I underwent life saving open heart surgery. I did not know what was in store for me. My path towards healing began when I learned that I was more than my trauma, more than a diagnosis or any challenges I faced. Since then I have had the honor and privilege of experiencing healing within myself and witnessing it in others. Somatic Experiencing® is a mind/body/spirit approach with a focus on nervous system coherency and positive psychology. SE helped me to return to heart centered living.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My roots stem from a calling to work on issues of social justice and social change. This is where i gained a humanistic and strength-based approach. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents and adults in outpatient settings, non-profit organizations and private practice. My path has led me to work towards social change through trauma healing.
