About My Clients
Are you avoiding certain people or certain events? Do the feelings make you feel like you want to stay at home and ignore everything? I understand the flashbacks, the reliving the experiences, the heart pounding, sweating and shakiness- like you aren't sure what to do with yourself; just that you want to feel safe, and NOW! It can be very scary after a trauma and I can help you with ways to reduce these feelings, to breath easy, and I look forward to being on this journey with you.
My Background and Approach
The therapy I will provide has been approved for the trauma you are suffering with. I hope I can help you find the words to express the experience. I will hold a safe space, without judgement, for you to say your story. I have been working with others who have been traumatized since 2018 and each client has been given many tools and have felt better. You too, will be given various tools, some within the first 2 sessions, to help ease some of the uncomfortable feelings you may be feeling. My goal is to have you feeling a better within your body and mind. We will start with getting to know a bit about you and what you have experienced, but in a superficial way. You'll be in the driver's seat, and you will decide which experience to touch upon first. After you feel that you have the tools to help, we will start your story, and slowly we'll break down thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that have been set. You'll gain confidence back and hopefully self-empowerment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I feel that the fight, flight, and freeze responses were given to protect us, but they don't need to be constant feelings that are here to stay. I think that therapy can help one get better and get out of the traumatic response rut. I have been there, I have experienced the flashbacks, reliving moments and the trauma responses; they are very uncomfortable. I became a therapist after seeing that therapy works. I make sure to keep up with my colleagues in supervision, not just for comradery and self-care but to keep learning. I feel learning is never ending and that if I don't know something, with your permission, I will ask others who do. Everything you tell me I take seriously, since it takes bravery to share what you share in sessions.
