About My Clients
I specialize in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders (body dysmorphia, hair pulling, skin picking, tics), and anxiety disorders (generalized, social, separation, selective mutism, panic, phobias, illness). Services are also provided for depression, adjustment concerns, disruptive behavior, emotion dysregulation, and life transitions.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based techniques, namely Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have extensive knowledge and training in the use of exposure therapy, with years of experience using exposure in school, hospital, and private practice settings. My doctoral education and training were completed at Vanderbilt University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that establishing rapport is the cornerstone of all effective therapy, and use warmth, humor, and kindness to cultivate this in the therapeutic relationship. I strive to use this rapport to help clients realize their own potential and do things they thought they could not do!
