Licensed Professional Counselor in Kansas City, MO

About My Clients

I have experience working with clients from a variety of ages, gender expressions, sexual orientations, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and ability levels both physical and mental. I use a variety of techniques to help clients be more mindful of the language that keeps them from moving forward and take manageable steps towards the life they want.

My Background and Approach

I primarily use techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients address their unique needs compassionately and collaboratively, so they will grow in the process. To help clients suffering from trauma, I use trauma-focused CBT, a specialized trauma processing therapy known as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic techniques, and run a trauma-informed self-defense therapy group focused on empowerment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe behaviors, thoughts, relationships, and feelings are “constructed” or influenced by the environments in which people have learned to survive. I love walking along side clients as they take manageable steps to process their problems and build upon skills to thrive in their future. I would love to meet with you and help you begin a journey towards hope and healing. I also offer consultation services for schools, organizations, and other groups wanting to learn about or design an intervention related to mental health and well-being.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
