About My Clients

The folks I work with are often experiencing anxiety, PTSD, self-doubt and low self-esteem, depression, interpersonal struggles, relationship/attachment struggles, and role changes. I have found that I work well with folks who are experiencing symptoms related to unresolved trauma and stress in their lives. I also work with the LGBTQ+ community provide support and safe space to explore and accept who they are and to move how they want to interact or present themselves in the world.

My Background and Approach

I am provisionally licensed mental health counselor in Florida and fully licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina. I also hold national counselor certification. I have been a therapist for over 3 years and worked in the mental health field since 2006. I am committed to helping my clients to improve their relationship with themselves and others. My work focuses on inviting curiosity of the present moment as a way to heal from difficult past experiences. I believe that you are in charge of your healing journey and I am here to help guide and facilitate that process. I am passionate about creating a safe space for exploration and wonder for my client's using person centered therapy, mindfulness, meditation, somatic work, non-violent communication, and EMDR. I am certified in Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR (S.A.F.E.).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as non-binary and am a part of the LGBTQ+ community. I am a non-biological parent of a two year old. I am also married. I have experienced a lot of joy in coming out and being able to live authentically. I also have experienced a lot of stress and difficulty in this process. I love to work with folks in the LGBTQ+ community and to help them work through many of the issues that our community faces. I am aware of how intersectionality also plays a role in how these issues are experienced and work hard to incorporate this into therapy and to own when I have made a mistake. Love and belonging are basic human needs. I hope to provide a safe space to belong, to feel accepted, to feel cared for, and to explore where the disconnect is happening for each of my clients. I am currently accepting clients in north Carolina (telehealth) and Florida (in-person & telehealth)

I offer online counseling in the following states:
