About My Clients
Maybe you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, or stuck - or noticing reactions you’d like to understand or change: shutting down, becoming angry, people-pleasing, or getting caught in the same relationship dynamics. Perhaps you're living with the effects of trauma or navigating a difficult transition, including midlife changes. If so, we can explore what's happening, including what your body may be telling you, and create more freedom in how you live, relate, and respond.
My Background and Approach
How I work depends on you, what we're working with, and what emerges in the process. I'm paying attention not only to what you're telling me, but to how you're responding as we work and what unfolds between us in the therapeutic relationship. Sometimes we may talk and make sense of what's happening; other times we might slow down to notice what's happening in your body, work with different parts of yourself, use Brainspotting, or bring in visualization, meditation and, at times, movement or sound. I also share practical tools you can use in your daily life and may suggest things to explore or experiment with between sessions. My work is informed by neurobiology, including three years of postdoctoral training in neuropsychology. My background also includes somatic, relational and depth psychotherapy, trauma, attachment, IFS/parts work, Brainspotting, CBT, and EFT. I offer Ketamine-Assisted Therapy and psychedelic integration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe our patterns usually make sense when we understand the experiences and relationships that shaped them. I'm less interested in asking "What's wrong with you?" than in getting curious about what happened, what you learned along the way, and what might be possible now. I value compassion, curiosity, authenticity, connection, and what I think of as right relationship - with ourselves, with other people, and with the larger world we're part of. I believe we need both belonging and the freedom to be fully ourselves, and that our capacity for connection includes learning how to navigate difference, conflict, boundaries, and repair. Community has been an important part of my life for a very long time. I've been an activist and community organizer, and for many years I've hosted and facilitated Ecstatic Dance. I love spending time with family and friends, being in nature, dancing, and bringing people together. I believe in creating a life with room for pleasure, play, and joy.
