About My Clients
I believe that you are the expert in your own experience, and that you have a beautiful story to tell. I love working with clients who are willing to do the hard work of digging into the emotions and beliefs that keep us stuck in cycles of stress. My biggest passion is helping clients dismantle shame. I am a firm believer that we have all been directly affected by shameful messages about food, our bodies, and our sexuality, and I want for everyone to be able to experience freedom in these areas.
My Background and Approach
I am experienced in treating eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, and depression. I love working with individuals ages 12 and up, and work collaboratively with parents and other practitioners to ensure that we are supporting healing together. I use a primarily person-centered approach because I believe that you are the expert in your own experience, and the best work can be done in the context of a strong therapeutic relationship. I also integrate CBT techniques to help target self-regulation goals, and solution-focused techniques to gauge overall progress across multiple sessions. I utilize Intuitive Eating (IE) and Health at Every Size (HAES) frameworks to support clients as they walk toward eating disorder recovery. I strongly believe in a multidisciplinary approach, and work with medical doctors and registered dietitians to ensure that my clients are receiving whole-body-and-mind care.
