About My Clients
I work with children, teens and young adults (and their families) who are going through a difficult time in their life. Maybe something happened in your family and you’re worried about your child or teen, or maybe you yourself are feeling like your life is not going the way you hoped it would and you’re trying to just make sense of it all. I would love to problem solve and help you create inner resources that get your life back and allow you to feel connected and happy.
My Background and Approach
My style is warm, curious, and collaborative. I love when clients and their families come with questions, or feel stuck and want to understand their own patterns. I am an empathetic listener who will ask you how your identity impacts your experience. As a creative arts therapist, we can explore what you are working on by talking, writing, making art, or through embodied work. For younger clients I often work through play therapy--improvised play, making art and checking in with the body often helps my clients start to feel better quickly and overcome things like anxiety or feeling depressed that stop them from feeling their best and doing well in school. I have training in Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy (TF-CBT) and Liberation-Focused Therapy. This means that I center the experiences of my clients and their families, address trauma and harmful systems directly, and focus on care for your whole, authentic self. I believe in community care and working to help you find your village.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer clinician and parent myself, I value creating affirming spaces for young people and adults. Parenting young children and teens in today's world is such a challenge, and I do a lot of work with parents who are navigating difficult conversations with their kids about bodily autonomy, political beliefs and world events, gender, sexuality & consent culture, and grief & loss.
