About My Clients
Finding a therapist can be a daunting task, whether you are in crisis or just looking to make a change. I am glad you are taking the first steps, and hope you find a therapist who is a good fit fit you. My clients are individuals age 16+ and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, difficult family dynamics, chronic pain/illness, infidelity, and infertility.
My Background and Approach
I know the courage it takes to walk in the door for the first session, so I meet that courage with respect, warmth, and a nonjudgmental stance. I am passionate about helping my clients find their voice, gain skills to face difficulties with confidence, get in touch with their minds and bodies, and heal past hurt and trauma. I strive to create a safe environment for clients to grow and express themselves. I am collaborative but active, and will bring my own ideas and perspectives about moving toward your goals but recognize you as the expert on your experience. My approach draws from narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and emotionally focused therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an intersectional feminist, and seek to act as an ally to people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community. As a marriage and family therapist by training, I recognize the impact of various systems on my clients' mental health, from family to community to broader oppressive socioeconomic systems.
