About My Clients
I am first and foremost, the parent and caregiver to a six year old boy with multiple disabilities. I enjoy working with other family caregivers and children with complex needs or diagnoses. I enjoy working with folks who have been involved in the criminal justice system, and worked in corrections previously as well as psychiatric and substance abuse treatment.
My Background and Approach
During my private practice internship courses, I worked directly with clients who dealt with things such as anxiety, depression, grief, complex trauma, relationship issues, career and values exploration, chronic stress, chronic pain, attachment and abandonment issues, personality disorders, dissociative disorders and more. My approach can be described as person centered and strengths based, and I have been trained in modalities such as narrative and cognitive behavioral therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about criminal justice reform, disability acceptance and societal inclusion, social issues and advocacy, and working actively towards ending some of the stigmatization towards help seeking and mental health treatment .
