About My Clients
Generally, I work with survivors of trauma, survivors of abuse, adult children of alcoholics/mentally ill/abusive parents, young adults in transition, people pleasers, those struggling with imposter syndrome, and perfectionists. My work also serves to help with self esteem, body positivity and body image issues, and navigating sudden or planned transitions.
My Background and Approach
I've been practicing for 11 years in a variety of counseling positions from inpatient mental health hospital programs to outpatient substance abuse programs. Most of my experience comes from working privately with a variety of populations. Since therapy is a big commitment and can sometimes be uncomfortable, it's important to me that my clients feel heard in a space that offers real, genuine connection. Sometimes therapy means digging deep into a painful memory, and sometimes it means showing up to a nonjudgmental space to take a deep breath and recharge. That being said, I want my clients to be successful, so simply listening without feedback is not my style. It is important to me that my clients leave with things to consider, work on, and practice when they leave session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold the belief that every person is inherently good, lovable, capable, and resilient. My role is to support clients in discovering their true selves in a safe, and caring environment. Simply put, I encourage all of my clients to come as they are. I commit to create a space in which we can reflect on the past and the present and practice new ways to connect authentically with others, quiet the inner critic, and live a life lead by their own unique values.
