About My Clients
I work with individual adults and couples. Through new insights and practical tools, I help you make positive change. In couples therapy, I support you and your partner with enhancing intimacy, addressing unhealthy communication, and rediscovering play. I also support individual adults with anxiety, loneliness, stress, and self-doubt. We work together to develop strategies for living with confidence and self-compassion. My Background and Approach
I have a Masters in Social Work and I have completed a post-graduate certification in Marriage and Family Therapy. Previously, I have served as the Executive Director of a nonprofit focused on social emotional learning and as a facilitator of diversity, equity, and inclusion trainings. With a PhD in Sociology, I have also spent over a decade teaching sociology and writing at the college level. These experiences inform both my therapeutic approach and my professional commitments. As a therapist, I am strengths-based, inclusive, and collaborative. I work to create an open and supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable sharing their stories, identities, and hopes for change. I bring a systemic lens that supports clients in situating their personal experiences and relationship dynamics within a broader social context. This systemic approach deepens clients' compassion for themselves and others, and ultimately fuels personal and relational growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person has an intrinsic inner light and a lifelong capacity to evolve. I am passionate about helping clients harness their unique gifts to create meaningful growth within themselves and their relationships. I am equally passionate about surfacing the ways in which dominant cultural narratives create barriers to realizing our full potential. I seek to help clients illuminate and rewrite these narratives in their own lives and relationships.
