About My Clients
Clients that I work with typically want both practical support/feedback as well as deeper dives into building self-awareness and self-compassion by examining one's context in past, present, and future. My primary areas of interest include but are not limited to: Interracial, Interethnic, & Intercultural Couples, Adult family relationships, Adolescent and young adult identity development, Adult children of parents with addiction/mental illness, Mild substance abuse and other addictive habits.
My Background and Approach
I believe my role as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is to encourage and support you in facing difficult feelings; provide helpful strategies, information, and tools where relevant; and collaborate with you in discovering new ways for you to engage with yourself internally and in your relationships. We will work together to better understand you and your history in order to shift the internal loops, relational dynamics, and maladaptive patterns that you feel stuck in. Since 2012, I have gained experienced working with a variety of populations (e.g. adult individuals, couples, young adults, teens, children, families) in many different settings such as community mental health agency, private practice, medical clinic, schools, and intensive outpatient addiction treatment center. I've seen clients from racially, ethnically, educationally, spiritually, religiously, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds, and also have experience working with those who identify as LGBTQ+.
