About My Clients
I'm passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life challenges such as grief, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and identity formation. If you (or your child) are unsure about therapy because you don't usually like to "talk about feelings" I would love to chat about what therapy can look like!
My Background and Approach
I understand that every person’s story is uniquely their own and am passionate about helping you understand your individual needs and to feel empowered as a self-advocate. I incorporate elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness along with art, play, and other creative techniques to ensure clients have multiple ways to express themselves. I have extensive experience working with young people grieving the death of someone important to them, as well as with children navigating a parent’s cancer diagnosis, and am trained in Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
People often say that “kids [and teens] are resilient,” but I understand that resilience is not always a guarantee. My goal is to meet my clients where they are, work with them to recognize their strengths, and support them on their path to resilience and post-traumatic growth. I am committed to ensuring clients feel safe, understood, and accepted for who they are (and for who they’re not!). For those who do not think of themselves as "talkers," I like to incorporate creative techniques into my therapeutic approach. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me cooking, spending time outside, or art journaling.
