About My Clients

I work with clients on issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, gender and sexual identity, and navigating systems of privilege and oppression.

My Background and Approach

I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective, believing that clients are the experts on their own life experiences. If you decide to seek treatment with me, we'll work together to create a space where you will feel comfortable expressing your emotions and experiences. We'll also look at both individual and societal factors that affect your ability to thrive, in order to help us meet your treatment goals, build a healthier sense of identity, and feel empowered to affect change in your life and the world at large.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy can be a life-changing experience, but admitting you need help can be difficult! Our struggles are often blamed on our own individual choices, without looking at factors outside our control. We may come from families where our mental health was ignored. We may be part of a marginalized group that faces systemic oppression. We may be neurodivergent and living in a world not designed for us, or have a genetic predisposition towards certain disorders. The guilt and shame we experience around our struggles lead us to feel disconnected from ourselves and others. A therapeutic relationship is often the first step to reconnection, healing and understanding who we are. I believe that clients are the experts on their own lives, and my job is to walk beside them on the journey towards self-understanding. I also believe it is my job as a clinician, and as a human being, to continually question my own intersections of privilege and oppression, and remain committed to social justice.
