About My Clients

Do you struggle with anxiety/panic, stress, feeling misunderstood, loneliness, critical self-talk, perfectionism, suicidal ideation, or trauma/PTSD? Never been to a therapist before? Or are you tired of feeling stuck with your previous therapists? Great, I am open and transparent about what I do and why I do it so you feel safe and understood during the healing process. I utilize coping skills, dialectics, and other techniques so you can live a life worth living, a life true to your values.

My Background and Approach

Whether you feel out of control, numbness, loneliness, excessive worry, chronic stress, or just want to understand what's going on inside yourself, my goal is to provide effective therapy so you can start living an authentic life true to your values in a reasonable amount of time. I am foundationally trained in DBT and have been trained by Dr. Alan Fruzzetti to provide DBT for parents, couples, and families to help those who struggle with chronic emotion dysregulation and suicidal behaviors. I am intensively trained by Dr. Kathleen Chard to identify and treat PTSD using CPT. CPT is heavily researched and has evidence showing significant reduction in symptoms of PTSD after an average of 12 sessions. I am level-II trained in RO DBT, which treats misery and loneliness experienced by individuals with excessive self-control behaviors. Art therapy is informed by mindfulness, CBT, DBT, CPT, RO DBT, and humanistic approaches.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe there is creativity in all of us. Some of us create with 2D or 3D art materials to create artwork, some of us create content on social media, some of us create transient art such as sand castles or cooking meals for ourselves and others! The act of existing requires some kind of creating, therefore creativity comes in many forms. For me personally, I create mixed media, textured acrylic paintings, and visual journal my experiences to process my thoughts and regulate my emotions. I also create space for myself by consistently practicing yoga. I also value genuineness, dependability, and the use of humor in my personal and professional life. I don't take life too seriously yet I have found meaning and purpose in the work I do with my clients. This is evidenced by my social media and website, which literally have cat memes, cat images, and cat puns on them because ~it's about balance~.
