About My Clients
Many of my clients tell me things like this: "I wake up and somewhere along the line I start to experience this loop of being worried and anxious. My body feels tense. I second-guess people (including myself). Trust is hard for me. Even though I might excel professionally, I don’t feel like it inside at times or that might be the only area I feel good about myself in. I love my partner and my family but sometimes feel disconnected from them. I've tried to change but it didn't work."
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy from a mind-body perspective. You can expect to learn strategies that go beyond traditional talk therapy soothing your nervous system (aka physiological symptoms). I incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and other interventions to help clients find relief from symptoms as soon as possible. As an anxiety trauma specialist, I'm also trained in EMDR Therapy, which is an evidence and brain-based model of therapy shown effective in treating not only trauma, but other adverse life experience as well that can lead to things like anxiety. I have helped many people over the years bust through limiting mindsets rooted in their past to break free and live a mindful and empowered life. In addition to my training, I'm personally a survivor of complex trauma and have done the work myself so I know what it takes and how to hold space for you on your own healing journey. It is truly my passion and mission to help others love life now and ultimately live a more Mindful Life, today!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Firstly, I never recommend a strategy to a client that I myself have not tried. I've been through a lot, childhood trauma, chronic stress, and burnout. Because of this, I am a passionate about ending the cycle of generational anxiety, low self worth, codependency, abuse, and trauma. This is greatly part of my community mission. I truly value self-care and teaching others to do the same. Mindfulness, meditation, yoga, walking, journaling, and deep belly breathing are things I use too. For me, mindfulness is not just about being in the present but living a life every day that makes it possible for one to actually BE present. Lastly, I love going to museums and learning about science and history. During the full moons, I’m usually doing sound bath healings or staring at the moon through my telescope. I also love animals,, comics, and anime and am the proud mama of a Chihuahua named Bane (like the villain from Batman). I welcome fellow nerds!
