My Background and Approach
After over a decade working in the mental health field, I have become adept at tailoring interventions to the specific needs of each individual. I will partner with you to create a custom treatment plan based on what you need - using interventions such as talk therapy, structured exercises, and virtual reality technology. I believe that every person has a subconscious belief system and set of personal rules that, if they become aware of, can be used to their advantage. I work from a cognitive behavioral perspective to assist people in identifying their own belief systems and rules and how they impact decision making. We all have patterns that we get into and a "cycle" of sorts that can happen when we aren't at our best and that cycle relates to emotion, thought, how our bodies feel, and how we choose to react to triggers and events in life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all people deserve respect and the feeling of safety in life and I support movements that seek to draw attention to and remedy inequality in society. I believe in the Black Lives Matter movement and I recognize the privilege that I have as a white woman. As a member of the LGBTQIA community I am passionate about helping other members of my community. My practice focuses on women because I believe that there is strength in the shared experience and perspective that comes with life experience as a woman. That being said, I believe in the right of individuals to liven and share their truth and I welcome people of any gender who feel they would benefit from work with me. I live in Denver with my girlfriend and our 3 dogs and 5 chickens.
