I have been a gender advocate for 20 years. Both professionally and personally, I am invested in helping support GNC folx in whatever way I am able. As your therapist, I try to offer a safe space where you can explore gender without judgement.
I have spent my entire social work career working with the LGBTQ community in a myriad of capacities. As an experienced clinician and a person with lived experience, I am ready to join you in your journey to address the ins and outs of living with an LGBTQ identity.
As a Certified Sex Therapist I am trained to treat a myriad of sexual health issues. Because of my extensive experience working with the LGBTQ community, I also have additional expertise at working at the intersection of sexual identity/gender identity and sex.
Utilizing sensorimotor psychotherapy with both individuals and couples has offered my clients a chance to deepen into their work with me. By understanding the mind-body connection, and engaging with the felt experience in the body, clients can often move through traumatic experience in meaningful and helpful ways, while also avoiding feeling retraumatized.
Using emotionally focused therapy for couples work can be a helpful tool in accessing some of the underlying issues that a couple is facing. When appropriate, I like to use this resource as a way to help couples better understand their conflict and break out of harmful or problematic patterns in their relationship.
I believe the foundation of therapy is about the relationship we build with one another. So using our therapeutic relationship can be a helpful guide in helping you achieve the goals you set for yourself.
