About My Clients
My prospective client is an individual looking for support in their experiences of anxiety, lack of self-esteem, addressing the inner critic, and developing new patterns and ways of viewing themself, their relationships and the world they live in. We will go about the work by noticing the impact of race, gender identity, sexuality, size, disability, loss, trauma and abuse, religion, purity culture, family of origin dynamics, the brain body connection, and major life transitions.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach begins and ends within the relationship. My belief is that change occurs within the therapeutic relationship when a solid, relational foundation is created within the bounds of authentic connection, trust, and safety. The core of my work is based in Relational Theory and Narrative Work. From this perspective I see the importance of uncovering themes and patterns that took place in past relationships, and family of origin dynamics, as a way to gain personal perspective and empowerment. I have a background in dance/movement which has influenced my understanding of therapy as involving both the mind and the body. I also identify as disabled due to being born with a limb difference which influences my passion of body liberation for all. My other professional interests and advanced trainings include: trauma-informed care, attachment work, enneagrwork, Lifespan Integration technique, somatic work, and a Health At Every Size Approach.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe Black Lives Matter. I honor and support all body shape, sizes and ability. I adhere to a Health At Every Size Perspective. I am sex positive and LGBTQIA+ affirming.
