When I work with you as a couple, we go deeper than what’s on the surface to explore the underlying emotions that are affecting how you relate to each other. Emotionally focused therapy for couples and Prepare/Enrich assessments are valuable tools I use to help you get a clearer understanding of your relationship and see positive changes. You CAN come out of a difficult time stronger and closer than ever.

Helping people through life changes is one of my passions. People often come to me hurting and confused following a break-up or struggling with handling chronic pain or life changes. Even good change can be hard change, and I approach this work from a perspective of helping you find your values and your voice. I can help you can find hope and direction through the most difficult storms.

I completed my masters internship and follow-up work in residential and PHP/IOP treatment working with clients with a variety of disordered eating patterns and diagnoses (e.g. anorexia, bulimia, other specified eating disorder), most of whom also struggled with anxiety, depression, OCD, bi-polar disorder, substance abuse, and other issues. I take a Health at Every Size (HAES) and non-diet perspective, supporting the principles of Intuitive Eating.

I am trained in EMDR and work with individuals who have suffered personal trauma or disturbing life events, and those who have witnessed trauma. I also consider and am sensitive to historical and inter-generational trauma. I specialize in trauma that is early in life, recurring, or persistent, such as adverse childhood experiences and ongoing disturbing events in life and relationships. You may have experienced the lack of caring and support that you needed, and that can have the same effect.

I completed training and consultation in EMDR to address the pain and suffering that lingers with trauma, grief, anxiety, pain, and depression. EMDR is a powerful whole brain technique to help you move forward by updating memories and emotions and moving trauma out of your body.

Even people who say "I'm not an artist" or "I can't draw" find that expressing themselves creatively gives them insight. Sometimes words aren't enough. Expressive therapy taps into emotions, sensations and memories, to discover sources of pain and light.

I take a person-centered approach, which means I hold your values in the highest regard and provide acceptance and a safe space. The therapeutic relationship we build is one of the greatest gifts and tools to helping you find your footing again.
