About My Clients
I treat trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, attachment issues, foster care and juvenile justice youth, LGBTQIA+ community, PTSD, substance use disorder, relationship stress, divorce, blended families, child and family therapy, parenting, college students and mood disorders. I welcome individuals and families of all ages, genders, ethnicities, cultures and abilities.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a variety of different, strength-based and compassion-focused therapy techniques. One of my approaches to treatment involves solution-focused cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients recognize how negative thoughts and habits impact mood, physical health and overall well-being. I also offer EMDR therapy to assist clients with processing traumatic experiences. I collaborate with clients to develop a treatment plan based on their age, reason for counseling, and desired outcomes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in a systemic approach to therapy and seek to address people not only as individuals but also as part of a larger system, teaching them to recognize their interactional patterns within relationships. One of my skills is helping clients make connections between their past experiences and current thoughts, feelings and behaviors, which promotes healing from trauma and grief.
