About My Clients

Are you struggling to move on after an unexpected change such as a breakup/divorce, death, etc.? I help clients who want to work towards more fulfilling relationships by first changing their relationship with themselves. They notice a pattern of losing themselves in relationships, and losing sight of their own needs, desires, values and strengths. I have special interest in serving the LGBTQ community, especially divorced parents, balancing their own self-care with the needs of their family.

My Background and Approach

I've worked in the in mental health field for many years, which includes outpatient individual therapy & group therapy, and assisting clients who want to change their substance use. My therapy style is warm, interactive and collaborative. As we examine your experiences we can be watching for your inner wisdom, strengths and resources to emerge. I view therapy through a relational, trauma-informed lens and use tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that there are many paths towards healing and that changes feel worth it when we are in alignment with our values. I believe that after a painful relationship ending, it helps to take time to understand ourselves on a deeper level before diving right back into the dating world. When we want to change the type of person we end up with, it helps to first change our relationship with ourselves. My focus is on exploring and enhancing inner qualities rather than trying to gain self-confidence through outward appearances. I'm rejecting of diet culture; my work is informed by Health at Every Size principles and I'm fat-positive. I also believe in working towards a mindset of abundance and making choices that are based out of that lens, rather than basing choices on fear and scarcity thinking. I also believe that therapy works best when we bring our full selves into the room, and that laughter is an important part of the healing process.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
