About My Clients
You find that you can’t slow down your thoughts and worry. It’s like a hamster running on a wheel. You worry about your worry. It’s wreaking havoc on your relationships, psychical health, sleep, and work. You feel tense, wound up, and restless all the time. If only your brain came with a switch that can turn on and off your worry. Just when you think you have a handle on it, worry creeps back in reminding you that life can be unpredictable.
My Background and Approach
Over the course of my career, I have worked in various treatment settings, from inpatient to outpatient providing treatment to adults and adolescents. I have had the opportunity to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and primarily in urban areas. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with anxiety, communication skills, codependency, co-occurring disorders, depression, eating disorders, substance use disorders, trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, mood disorders, life transition, process/behavioral disorders, anger management, grief/loss, women's issues, stress management, and self-esteem/body issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong advocate for de-stigmatizing mental health and substance use. As part of my membership in NJAPA, I work to identify ways in which we can advocate for clients for policy change. I am also a member of the Passaic County Overdose Fatality Review Team. I work with their Research and Education Subcommittee to advance community connections and educate the public on harm reduction strategies.
