About My Clients
My clients are typically adults from all cultural and religious backgrounds. They come to me with a variety of experiences that need attention; depression, anxiety, panic disorder, grief, obsessive compulsive disorder, stress, attention deficit disorder, vocational issues, difficulty finding meaning, trauma, women's health, men's health, LGTBQ+, body and self-image, cultural intersectionality issues, and social justice issues. Most often however, my clients thrive when they feel seen and heard.
My Background and Approach
Coming into therapy, whether for your first time or with a new clinician can be scary so I like to create a warm environment for you in session. I believe that therapy is not a 'one size fits all' formula but rather a unique and individualized experience that is developed within the client and therapist relationship. Therapy provides an empathetic and comfortable space for you to explore and identify ways to create positive change within your life. I will work to gain your trust as we work together to identify and resolve thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that need healing. Doing so will result in a more empowered and thriving you! Our aim is to help you take back control of your life. I pull resources and tools from a variety of therapeutic modalities and philosophies including integrative cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, solutions-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness practices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I recommend and offer solutions that I myself practice. From meditation, mindfulness, and stoicism to relying on your spirituality or religious beliefs if important to you, connecting with nature, and working with the mind through the body via somatic experiencing, I engage in all of these activities and experience the efficacy of each. I believe a therapist can only take you as far as they have been themselves within the therapeutic process and so, a goal for myself is the life-long practice of reflection, growth, and self-improvement. A self-aware therapist will only make the therapeutic process that much better for you. I unconditionally support my clients and hold them in the highest regard regardless of their experiences or past. When they feel they cannot turn to anyone, they can count on the therapeutic relationship in a real, authentic way. When I am not offering therapy, I am taking care of myself. This includes being outdoors, making art, and spending time with loved ones.
