About My Clients

Clients seek me out and work with me because, as they tell me, I'm pretty no nonsense. Just like you - they were ready for change but not really thrilled their lives have gotten to this point. They are exhausted, drained and ready for change. They seek support, awareness and direction as they find what works for them, and them alone. My clients seek me out because 'something' isn't right or working well for them and, often, while they know what that is, they want a hand to move forward.

My Background and Approach

My approach would best be described as eclectic; I hold no allegiance to one specific approach. Science, experience, some wisdom and the lessons plain old life has shown me do most of the heavy lifting. My practice is filled with interesting, engaged and motivated clients and that makes all the difference in the world. I've worked in the field of addiction and recovery for my entire career. My work continues to focuses on grief, loss, change, healing and moving forward in addition to substance use work. Listing out my credentials and the workshops I've attended make this about me and the reality is that this is about you. I'm not everyone's cup of tea and that's OK! If you'd like to learn more I'd be happy to chat with you because a good fit is the main ingredient in a therapeutic relationship that will be of most help to you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I come from a background and family where science rules - so how does this impact my practice? I believe in giving my clients the tools (information, insights, hardcore proven facts) to help them make decisions and shape practices that work best for them. I fully acknowledge that we need to have enough personal evidence to help us make shifts that are extremely difficult to achieve. It is also having the experience to know when to step in with a bit more of a directive when the time is right. When I am not working with clients or on the business of a solo practice I am baking, volunteering my time to a number of issues that are important to me and gardening.
