About My Clients
Sometimes we do our best work outside the office — and at Mudflower Farm, a beautiful natural setting, you can discover just what that means. I meet you where you are, whether you're new to therapy or previous treatment didn't work. I work with children, teens, parents, and adults with OCD, anxiety, panic, PTSD, and BFRBs, using evidence-based ERP, ACT, and equine-facilitated therapy. I create a safe space to find your strengths and face your fears. Proudly LGBTQ+- and neurodiversity-affirming.
My Background and Approach
If you or your child is struggling with anxiety, stress, trauma, or the everyday challenges of living as a neurodivergent person in a demanding world, you've found the right place. I'm Dr. Lisa W. Coyne, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience. As founder of the New England Center for OCD and Anxiety and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, I've spent my career ensuring my clients get the very best care. I use gold-standard ERP and ACT, and offer innovative equine-facilitated therapy in a beautiful farm setting — creating a safe context to explore, learn, and grow. My approach is warm, collaborative, and completely in your corner. Therapy moves at your pace, built around your goals, and grounded in the belief that you are so much more than your struggles. Real change is possible — help is here.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that creating the right healing context matters deeply — and that all behavior makes sense when you understand that context. Sometimes healing happens in a therapy office. And sometimes it happens in nature, in the company of horses, at our unique and beautiful Mudflower Farm, where the natural world calls us to be present, embodied, and open to joy. My approach is strength-based and client-centered — because I believe people can change at any age, no matter how long they've been struggling. OCD and anxiety are not life sentences. They are learned patterns, and what has been learned can be unlearned. I know this personally — facing my own fears rather than avoiding them helped me build a life I truly love. My job is to help you find the strengths you already carry, even when you can't feel them yet. Reach out today — your journey toward freedom starts here.
