About My Clients
I specialize in working with people who want to work with someone who is driven by kindness + perseverance; guided by compassion, courage, curiosity, + humility; and energized by the power of community, connection, + collective strengths.
My Background and Approach
I am routinely seen as someone who bridges ideas and brings people together, rather than dividing them apart. My ability to hold multiple, non-binary, nuanced truths at once; and my dialectical worldview — sitting in the paradox + holding the tension of opposites — also informs much of my work. This is particularly relevant around the concepts of acceptance + change; and I work effectively at both, the individual-level + the systemic-level. Lastly — and perhaps most importantly — I come to this work from my own, deeply personal, lived experience (as a suicide attempt survivor from 2011 onward) + shared experience (as someone of multiple marginalized identities); and I am especially drawn to opportunities that elevate others who are of marginalized identities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My training, professional background, and practice are informed by cultural humility; clinical, organizational, + social psychology; advocacy + social justice organizing; intersectionality + the law; social work at both the systems/macro-level + at the person-in-environment/micro-level; the intersection of mental health within a system + systemic mental health; social determinants of health (SDOH); the mind-body connection; attachment theory; narrative therapy; mutual aid groupwork; dialectical behavior therapy (DBT); liberation health; assertive + nonviolent communication (NVC); best practices for working effectively with trauma + suicidality; the intersection of mental health at work + workplace mental health; mentally healthy + mentally unhealthy startup cultures; and the bidirectional relationship between mental health + tech.
