About My Clients
Living as an ADHDer can feel like persisting in a world not built for you. Society may have taught you that there's something wrong with your neurodivergence. Maybe you got that message from teachers when school became too overwhelming and you couldn't find new coping skills. Or maybe you've had a boss treat you unfairly because your work schedule and style looked different than your coworkers. Even in close relationships with partners, families, and friends, you may have felt misunderstood.
My Background and Approach
Rather than battling with your ADHD, what if you could hone in on your strengths and add skills to support you with your goals? I’m here to help you find the environments where you thrive. We will reforge the unhelpful stories that you, your family, or society have told you about how to live your life. We'll also practice tools and skills tailored to you. I particularly enjoy working with people who suspect neurodivergence/ are self-diagnosed or were diagnosed as adults, as well as people with underrepresented symptoms of ADHD. I’m an inquisitive, playful, and warm person, who will be direct and sometimes challenge you with hard questions, but never unkindly. I can’t help but to be authentic, and I hope this helps you feel comfortable in therapy too.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm an ADHDer and strongly believe that the medical model is pathologizing for neurodivergent folks. I work from a holistic, strengths-based, social model. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am also interested in providing space for my clients to explore sex and sexuality in a non-judgmental space. My personal and professional experience has revolved around making connections with others, analyzing stories, and solving problems. I love learning about your interests and passions as well as your challenges. We will encourage self-awareness and empowerment while also allowing room to process something new in a safe space or just vent. Outside of therapy, I’m passionate about reading, playing video games, and watching too much reality television. I also love travel and seeing more of the PNW. I am a Seattle transplant, a partner, a singer, a swimmer, a lifelong student, and have many more identities just like my clients!
