About My Clients
Are you driven by a fear of failure? Do you have the nagging doubt that you're only one misstep away from disappointing everyone you love? Does all that anxiety seem to make you freeze at crucial moments? If you're feeling overwhelmed, I can help.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in helping my clients overcoming anxiety. I tailor my approach to your strengths and needs. My goal is to help you develop practical coping skills and replace old habits that are no longer working for you. We will also strengthen your nervous system regulation through simple activities you can practice on your own. In addition, we will explore patterns in your past and present environment that keep you stuck in an ineffective loop. I will show you how you can stay the course in your life goals even when you experience anxiety. In the course of our work together, you may discover long held beliefs about yourself that are no longer helpful. Perhaps these beliefs were born out of not feeling loved as a child, or related to negative life-changing experiences. We will explore whether incorporating trauma work into our sessions can be helpful. I graduated from Antioch University Seattle in 2008 with a Masters in Psychology. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in WA.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that many people struggle with mental health issues because of unmet needs, and because of patterns in the family that keeps them stuck in unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In my work, I am always moved by how much clients want to be their best, and be loved and accepted. My work is guided by my belief that every person carries with them an inner wisdom that, when rediscovered, will shine on the path forward. As an immigrant to this country myself, I am attuned to cultural issues, transitional difficulties, grief and loss of identity. Balancing personal goals with my family's expectations is also something I have had personal struggles with. Because of this, I value the power of a safe therapeutic space to have healing dialogues around these issues.
