About My Clients
If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem, or feel a lack of direction in life then therapy can be a great way to unstick from these maladaptive patterns and find a fresh start. I have extensive experience working with kids and teens in the foster care system as well as with caregivers who may be struggling with behavioral issues in the home. I would be honored to have the opportunity to work alongside you during the process of counseling!
My Background and Approach
I am a trauma-informed therapist with extensive experience working with at-risk youth, mandated clients, and crisis intervention. I am a TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) Practitioner and in the process of completing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) training.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that connection and the therapeutic alliance are the most important pieces to creating change for clients. I enjoy being playful and silly with children as play disarms fear and is the primary language of children. In working with adults, I like to bring in elements of Existentialism and Reality therapy to get at the heart of how you define your meaning and help you to regain a sense of autonomy and power over your life’s trajectory.
