About My Clients
I work with folks seeking to heal their relationships with food and body & learn skills to cope effectively with difficult emotions and experiences. I help my clients to be gentle with themselves, own their voice, take up space, and feel liberated to be their full, authentic, complicated, and dynamic selves. If you’re tired of shrinking yourself or being shrunk by others, I want to support you as you embrace this process of expansion and begin choosing yourself.
My Background and Approach
I believe that you and your body have exactly what you need to heal, grow, take up space, and live a meaningful life. I utilize an integration of Dialectical Behavior, Somatic, and Person-Centered therapies to help you tune into yourself, validate your experience, and make choices that allow you to embrace your authentic self. I have worked with adults and adolescents in college counseling clinics, inpatient/residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings, and private practice. I have advanced training in DBT, ACT, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy, and Brainspotting. My practice is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and rooted in Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating frameworks. I am a licensed counselor in NC and credentialed as a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. In addition to being a clinician, I am a researcher and educator at the graduate level for counselor training programs.
