About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples in New York City navigating desire discrepancy, intimacy concerns, postpartum reconnection, and relationship anxiety. Many clients want a sex therapist who speaks openly and directly about sex, desire, and intimacy without discomfort. I'm LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcome clients of all identities, orientations, and relationship structures, including non-monogamous and kink-affirming spaces.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the founder of Lindsey Turner Therapy, a group practice in Manhattan. I built my career around a simple task: empowering people who never felt safe talking openly about sex, intimacy, and relationships. I received my master's from Columbia University and have a certification in sex therapy after years of specialized training in sex and couples work. I started this practice to create a space where clients don't have to tiptoe around what's actually going on in their relationships and their bodies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe sex and intimacy are essential parts of mental health, not separate from it, yet they're often the hardest things to talk about, even in therapy. Every person and relationship structure deserves affirming, judgment-free care, regardless of identity or orientation. Connection is built through honesty, not performance, and most people are capable of deeper intimacy than they think; they just need the right space and the right questions to get there. My work is grounded in the belief that you shouldn't have to explain or justify who you are or what you want help with.
