About My Clients
I specialize in working with trauma survivors - specifically first responders, front-line medical professionals, and victims of intimate-partner violence. My experiences in mobile crisis, police, and hospital social work give me a unique understanding of these individuals which has been invaluable when working with clients. I have responded to death scenes, provided police debriefings, and even did therapy in the back of an ambulance. You won't find that with most other therapists!
My Background and Approach
I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and many more methods to help my clients find balance and function better in their daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I accept my clients where they are while also pushing them to realize the barriers preventing them from achieving the life they desire. I am not afraid to call my clients out or challenge them when their actions or thoughts are counter-productive to their goals. I want to make sure every client gets the most out of our sessions & we can make true changes together. Progress cannot be achieved through one therapy session every 2-3 weeks, thus I expect my clients to do work between sessions to implement the concepts we discuss. My ultimate goal is to work with you to help you find better balance & healthier relationships throughout your life. I look forward to the day my clients no longer feel like they "need" me.
