About My Clients
Are you struggling with anxiety, uncertainty, and a lack of boundaries. I aim to provide client-centered, neuro-diverse affirming therapy to help you embrace your passions to build resilience and conquer challenges.
My Background and Approach
I started working in Mental Health in schools in 2005 as a School Psychologist after obtaining my Specialist in School Psychology degree from Western Illinois University. After working for 15 years in the school setting, I decided to move to private practice. I received my Licenced Professional Counselor Candidate certificate in 2022. I completed training to be a Certified Geek Therapist and Therapeutic Game Master in 2022, learning how to integrate anime, pop culture, video games, and table-top role-playing games (TTRPGs) into therapy. I specialize in working with neurodivergent children and teens.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that strong, positive relationships are the key to healing. Because of this, I aim to create rapport with clients first to develop a partnership with which to tackle their concerns head on. As a child and teen I was highly anxious and have learned skills to help me manage my anxiety and depression. Because of this, I know that change does not happen overnight and growth is not a linear process. I believe that we are all always learning and growing, and I strive to continuously improve my practice.
