Clinical Social Worker in Fort Myers, FL
What else can I say besides FUN! Therapy is not all about talking, its about being creative and unique to express your feelings and thoughts freely! I provide techniques to develop innovative creations to aid in personal growth and healing from anxiety, depression, grief & loss, and trauma. Not feeling creative? There is no such thing as good or bad art, each piece is unique for every individual. Its what speaks to you and whatever comes to your mind with no judgement! Just let it go!
This journey begins with YOU, not your problems! Person-centered is a treatment modality that empowers individuals of all ages to put forth the effort in creating their own independence. Independence allows for individuals to better cope with any present and/or future life problems they may encounter! I am here to guide you in learning your own skills and what works best for you. Are you ready to be in charge of how you navigate your life adventures and challenges?
What better way to help the mind, then to start with the mind! Mindfulness based therapy is an effective treatment for various life issues. It may take some practice, however the results are worth it! If you are feeling anxious, depressed, or just have a lot going on; mindfulness techniques will bring you awareness about yourself and the world around you in the present moment! Meditation, guided imagery, and breath work are just a few examples I can share with you!
I have over 5 years of experience working with adolescents in residential and inpatient mental health and substance use settings specializing in crisis intervention, behavior modifications, assessments, and preliminary diagnosis. I love working with adolescents because they bring spunk to the table and have intriguing views on life!
I have a passion and experience for supporting individuals with all types of grief and loss, including but not limited to, death and divorce. It is important to discuss loss with honesty and compassion. Explaining a loss to a child/adolescents can become challenging when you are challenged by your own grief. I provide expressive art techniques to process grief and loss because sometimes talking is too daunting for individuals of all ages!
