Addiction is isolating. You feel lonely and afraid, angry and ashamed. You don't have to fight alone. I promise not to judge what you are going through, and I promise to make dark and irreverent jokes at the most inappropriate times. We can work on coping skills for tomorrow, and dig through the debris of yesterday.
My Background and Approach
I have more than 14 years of experience working in mental health. Working in settings from long term residential treatment to outpatient centers to crisis hotlines, I specialize in addiction, trauma, PTSD and anxiety. My approach to therapy is person-centered, but I used techniques drawn from a variety of practices including CBT, Humanistic Therapy and Strengths Based Therapy. You are more than a list of symptoms or a diagnosis, and I work with people in all aspects of their mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in hope. I am an LGBTQ+ ally, I support native people and those of color, and I believe in science. I am saddened by the current political climate, but I am not broken and I am NOT giving up.
