I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families overcome obstacles and reach their goals. I believe that each client has the ability to learn and grow when given the right tools to manage stress, anxiety, depression, grief or heal from past trauma. My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience in the mental health field. I received my Bachelor of Social Work with a focus in mental health in 2006 and a Master of Social Work with a clinical aging focus in 2008. I gained my LCSW-C in 2011 and continued my education and training throughout my career. Additional certifications include CSWHC Certified Social Worker in Health Care and CGIP Certified Grief Informed Professional. Perhaps the most influential experience was my 7 years with the Veterans Health Administration which shaped me in to the well-rounded and open-minded clinician I am today. I strive to create a warm, compassionate and private environment for my clients and am honored to be a part of their journey to healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we should be able to live life on our own terms, not pre-defined terms by someone else. I like to help clients reach their goals and find happiness because, as we all know, we only get one chance at this life. I believe that life is hard enough and therapy should be practical not scientific. Therapy cannot be one size fits all therefore my first priority is to work with my clients and develop a plan that meets their specific needs.
