About My Clients

Is your child experiencing issues that affect everyday life? Are they anxious, sad, or angry and you're not sure how to help? It's hard as a parent not to know how to help your child when they are struggling, and I love helping children and teens develop the skills they need to manage emotions and communicate needs before a breakdown while also supporting parents to have the tools and confidence that they can respond effectively to their child's concerns.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #85229) in the state of Texas. My education includes a BS in Psychology from Duke University and a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. I also have training and experience in play therapy, dancing mindfulness, and expressive arts in counseling. There is no one approach to counseling. My goal is to develop a special, safe, warm, and caring relationship with each client where you feel comfortable to explore what works best for you in life and in therapy. Not every tool will work for every person, and the skills that I have developed over my career are varied to meet what works personally for each individual. We'll work collaboratively to address your current concerns and how your environment, previous experiences, and beliefs may be contributing to difficulties and what to do from there. Whether it is through play, talk, or expressive arts, I can help you, your child, and your family feel better.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I value authenticity, and as such, I believe that as a therapist, I will always carry part of myself as a person into the therapy room—for better or worse. Historically, this has predominantly been disadvantageous and dangerous to people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those who are neurodiverse. As a queer woman, I know how difficult it can be to find accepting and understanding therapists, and it is my goal to continuously work to ensure that therapy is a warm, caring, and understanding space. I not only want to be an authentic person who is there to support you, but also for you to feel free to be your most authentic self within the therapeutic relationship. Please feel free to contact me for any clarification on my values and approach.
